Royston House isa
self contained "house" located on top of the Royston
range, 13km further south of the Rubicon base. It is available
for hire in non fire danger
and non winter periods .
The
kitchen has a small stove, pots and pans plus basic utensils,
cutlery and crockery. Bunk beds with mattresses are provided;
BYO pillow and sleeping bag, warm clothes and indoor shoes eg
slippers.
Gas wall heaters keep the rooms warm, whilst gas hot water is on tap in the kitchen
and bathroom / shower.
BYO Esky for food storage in warmer months.
Power is generator only.
The road to Royston is subject to snow during autumn and
spring, definitely during winter; wheel chains
may be required . Log
trucks work the area; great care needs to be taken on this
single lane road.
Telephone reception is non existant.
Location
Rubicon Outdoor Centre is located in North-Eastern Victoria approximately 130
kilometers North East of Melbourne in the Rubicon Valley, at the foot of
the Blue Range providing a base for a range of activities. The Centre is
situated approximately 18 kilometers - 15 minutes travel by road from both
Alexandra and Eildon. Royston House is a further 13 km south - specific instructions
will be provided upon successful application.
