Rubicon Outdoor Centre is operated by the
Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
It is available for short-term hire to groups or individuals
seeking a venue for outdoor recreation, environmental education,
and relaxation! The Centre can also be hired on a daily basis,
providing an ideal setting for meetings
and seminars.
Rubicon Outdoor Centre is located in North-Eastern Victoria
approximately 130 kilometers North East of Melbourne in
the Rubicon Valley, at the foot of the Blue Range providing
a base for a range of activities. The Centre is situated
approximately 18 kilometers - 15 minutes travel by road
from both Alexandra and Eildon. Click here for map.
Rubicon has varied accommodation facilities including
two dormitories - "Goulburn" and "Torbrek" housing up to
22 people in each with two per room; 10 rooms have bunk
beds,
the
other room has two single beds with an ensuite. Each of
these dormitories has 4 showers, 4 handbasins and one indoor
toilet.
Two smaller
dormitories: "Pinninger" sleeps 12 people; 5
bunk rooms of two and one room with two single beds. "Pinninger" has
two separate bathrooms with two handbasins, one toilet
and one shower in each.
"Sugarloaf" dormitory has three rooms of 4 beds (2
bunks in each) and one room with one single bed, a total
of 13 beds. "Sugarloaf" has one bathroom with a toilet,
handbasin and a disabled access shower; the second bathroom
has one handbasin and a shower over
a bath. There is a second, separate indoor toilet. Click

The "Sugarloaf" dormitory has a kitchen, allowing
self catering within the dormitory. Catering for Goulburn,
Torbrek
and
Pinninger dormitories all occur in our newly refurbished
commercial kitchen and dining room.
